ViennaUP 2026 returns in style: get ready to kick off a week of bold ideas in one of the city’s most magical locations. 

For this year’s Opening Night the Vienna Business Agency brings together founders, investors, creatives, and ecosystem representatives from around the world in none other than the Vienna City Hall, a place that best captures what the festival is all about: big ambition rooted in a history of innovation. 

Beneath the light of the chandeliers, in a space that has shaped European culture, we will start forward-thinking conversations that will carry throughout the entire week as we make meaningful connections, build networks, and grow our businesses. The event is hosted by the Vienna Business Agency, which initiates and curates ViennaUP, our decentralised, community-driven festival brought to life year after year in partnership with major startup ecosystem players from around Vienna – and the world.

!! Please note: Only registered participants will be able to attend the Opening Night. Do make sure to secure a ticket in time if you wish to join, as the capacity will be limited.

The evening combines inspiration, substance, and a touch of surprise, including:

• an official address by Executive City Councillor Peter Hacker
• welcome words by Vienna Business Agency's own Managing Director Dominic Weiss and Head of the Founders and Startups Department, Gabriele Tatzberger
• a special keynote by Fredrik Debong, serial entrepreneur and founder of mySugr

... as well as a Viennese buffet with local delicacies, and much more, including the unmistakable ViennaUP energy. Expect exciting encounters and fresh perspectives, all against a breathtaking backdrop. See you in Vienna!
